The sky turns red as the sun hits the hills, the sunset reflected in the snow.
I try not to think of you and fail again. The tears begin to flow.
A teardrop falls into my hand; I hold it to the light.
Its beauty slowly dies away as the day becomes the night.
Does this make any sense to you,
This picture that I weave?
My world is darkened yet again
Every time you leave.
I stand and watch the storm that brews as lightning cracks the sky.
The calm before the coming gale is a sympathetic lie.
Where the lightning cannot reach it sends thunder instead.
I relish this fearsome chaos that is mirrored in my head
Maybe you don’t understand
Just what I’m trying to say.
So let me spell it out for you;
I want you to stay.
Endless waves come crashing down as I walk along this beach.
The water trickles toward my soles but I stay out of reach.
The sound goes on through the night, the tide forever runs.
Therefore I’ll keep going, too. Until my search is done
I’d do anything for you
But you have to let me know.
Anything to see your smile…
Even let you go.
But if there is some hope for us,
Tell me while there’s time.
I can’t take much more of this
Before it breaks my mind.
Breath taking. Really.
ReplyDeleteMy new favorite. It was forever ends. This took its spot, only because of the way you make the reader visualize the various seasonal scenes. I can really picture you sittig there looking at the sunset and the clear, crisp white snow. Or you looking up above and watching the storm, or standing on the edge of the shore looking at the waves hit. Its a depressing poem, but i love it. Your very good at Visualization
